This year, the Jazz Foundation of America’s annual fundraising Gala, which provides housing assistance, pro bono medical care, hurricane disaster relief, and financial support to musicians and their families in times of crisis, will feature a Max Roach Centennial tribute by Charles Tolliver, Dee Dee Dee Bridgewater, George Cables, Billy Harper, and Rufus Reid. As well as music by The Titans of Jazz Drums: Al Forster, Billy Hart and Louis Hayes.

The event will be hosted at The Apollo Theater and will honor businessman and longtime jazz music benefactor, Richard D. Parsons. The evening will also feature performances by The Grateful Dead‘s Bobby Weir and the Sun Ra Arkestra .
